Multiplier Points lets you run time-limited campaigns where customers earn bonus points on their orders. During an active campaign, the standard order points value is multiplied by the factor you set. For example, 2x means customers earn double points on every order placed within the campaign window.

You can also set different multiplier values for each VIP tier, giving you the flexibility to reward higher-tier customers with greater bonuses during a campaign.

This article covers what Multiplier Points does, how to create a campaign, how to set VIP tier-specific multipliers, how campaign statuses work, and what to keep in mind when managing campaigns.

1. What is Multiplier Points

Multiplier Points allows you to:

  • Run bonus point campaigns for a defined start and end date.
  • Set a custom multiplier (for example, 2x, 2.5x, 3x) on top of your existing order points value.
  • Set different multiplier values per VIP tier within the same campaign.
  • Run multiple campaigns scheduled at different times.
  • Automatically apply bonus points to qualifying orders. No manual action required.

Important: Multiplier Points only applies to order points. Other loyalty earning actions such as account sign up, reviews, or referrals are not multiplied during a campaign.

2. How to create a Multiplier Points campaign

Step 1

Go to Multiplier Points in Flits Loyalty

In your Shopify admin, open Flits → Loyalty and click the Multiplier Points tab.

Step 2

Create a new campaign

Click Create campaign to open the campaign setup form.

Step 3

Fill in the campaign details

Complete the fields on the campaign form:

  • Campaign name: A name to identify the campaign internally.
  • Starting date & time: The date and time when the campaign should begin. All dates and times are shown in your local time zone.
  • Ending date & time: The date and time when the campaign should end.
  • Points multiplier: The multiplier value applied to your existing order points for all customers. The default value is 1x.
    For example: If your store gives 10 points per order and you set a multiplier of 3x, customers will earn 30 points per order during the campaign window.
  • Comment: Add an internal note for reference.

Step 4

Review and save the campaign

Use the Summary panel on the right to confirm the dates, multiplier, and any tier-specific settings.

When you are satisfied with the configuration, click Save to create the campaign.

Important: Flits does not send promotional emails to customers about Multiplier Points campaigns. If you want to promote the campaign, you can strategies it as per your business need.

3. Setting different multipliers for VIP tiers

If your store has VIP tiers set up, you can assign a different multiplier value to each tier within the same campaign.

How it works

  • By default, all VIP tiers inherit the same multiplier as the global campaign value.
  • A tier-specific multiplier is only applied when you manually edit that tier’s value to something different from the global multiplier.
  • The Summary panel reflects the multiplier for each tier separately once customised.

To set a tier-specific multiplier

  • On the campaign creation or edit page, scroll to the Set different points for each VIP tier section.
  • The table lists all your active VIP tiers with their current multiplier value.
  • Click Edit next to the tier you want to customise.
  • Enter the new multiplier value for that tier, then save.
  • The Summary panel on the right will update to show the tier-specific value.

For example: If the global multiplier is 2x and you set the Silver tier to 3x, all regular customers earn 2x during the campaign, while Silver tier customers earn 3x.

Important: If a VIP tier’s multiplier value is left unchanged (the same as the global value), no separate tier-specific multiplier is applied, the global multiplier is used for that tier.

4. Campaign statuses explained

Each campaign on the Multiplier Points list shows one of three statuses:

Scheduled

The campaign has been created but has not started yet. Scheduled campaigns can be viewed, edited, or deleted before they start.

Running

The campaign is currently active. Running campaigns cannot be edited. If changes are needed, wait for the campaign to finish or delete and recreate it.

Finished

The campaign has ended. Finished campaigns can be viewed for reference but cannot be edited.

5. Editing or deleting a campaign

To edit a Scheduled campaign

  • Go to Loyalty → Multiplier Points.
  • Locate the campaign with Scheduled status.
  • Click Edit.
  • Make the required changes and click Save.

To delete a Scheduled campaign

  • Locate the campaign with Scheduled status.
  • Click Edit to open the campaign.
  • Click the Delete button at the top right of the page to remove the campaign.

Important: Only Scheduled campaigns can be edited or deleted. Once a campaign is Running, it cannot be modified.

6. How bonus points are handled on refunds & exchanges

If a customer places an order during an active Multiplier Points campaign and later requests a refund or exchange, the bonus points earned during the campaign are automatically deducted or adjusted as per your refund/cancel adjustment setup. You do not need to manually remove these points.

7. Things to keep in mind

  • Multiplier Points only applies to order-based point earning, not to sign ups, reviews, referrals, or other loyalty actions.
  • All campaign dates and times are based on your local time zone.
  • A campaign with a multiplier of 1x will not provide any bonus. Set a value of 2x or higher for the campaign to have an effect.
  • VIP tier multipliers only take effect when you manually change the tier value. Leaving it unchanged applies the global multiplier to that tier.
  • Flits does not notify customers about campaigns, the merchant is responsible for promotion.
  • Running campaigns cannot be edited, plan your campaign dates carefully before saving.
