Overview

The product page is where customers make their first real decision about purchasing — which makes the Wishlist button one of the most important UI elements you configure. Flits Wishlist allows you to customize the button’s style, placement, text, and interaction behavior to match your storefront’s design and maximize engagement.

This article covers every product-page wishlist setting, how they work, and best practices for different store types.

1. Enabling Wishlist on Product Pages

To activate the button:

  1. Open Flits Wishlist

  2. Go to Wishlist Design → Product Page

  3. Toggle Show Wishlist Button on Product Page → ON

If disabled, the wishlist button will not appear on any product page, even if wishlist is enabled globally.

2. Choose the Button Type

You can display wishlist in three formats:

Icon Only

  • Clean, minimal, commonly used in fashion

  • Works well when placed on product images or near the title

Text Only

  • Clear and accessible

  • Ideal for stores with older demographics or high-information pages

Icon + Text (Recommended)

  • Highest engagement rate

  • Balanced visibility + clarity

  • Works across all industries

Choose what aligns best with your theme and brand aesthetics.

3. Button Placement Options

Flits offers multiple placement choices depending on your chosen button type. Placement determines visibility and significantly impacts engagement.

Standard Placements

  • Below Add to Cart (most popular, very visible)

  • Above Add to Cart

  • Right side of Add to Cart

  • Near Product Title

Image Overlay Placements

  • Top-left

  • Top-right

  • Bottom-left

  • Bottom-right

Best for: fashion, lifestyle, furniture — where imagery is the primary decision factor.

Manual Placement (Advanced)

If you want complete control, choose Manual Placement and insert the provided snippet into your theme's product template.

4. Customize Button Styling

You can fully tailor how the button looks:

  • Button Style → Solid or Outline

  • Button Radius → sharp or rounded corners

  • Button Color → brand primary or accent color

  • Text Color → readable contrast

  • Padding X / Padding Y → button size

  • Spacing from Top → adjust vertical alignment

  • Custom CSS → advanced styling

Tip:
Match wishlist button color with your Add to Cart color for consistent UX.

5. Configure Wishlist Count Display

You can display wishlist count to the customer:

  • None — simplest layout

  • General Count — total wishlist items

  • Button Count — shows count next to the button

Count display works as social proof and encourages engagement.

6. Edit Wishlist Button Text

Customize:

  • Add to Wishlist

  • Added to Wishlist

Supports multi-language stores and custom branding language.

7. Variant Popup Interaction

If variant popup is enabled:

  • When customer clicks wishlist button

  • A variant selection popup appears

  • Prevents wishlisting the wrong variant

This is highly recommended for fashion, beauty, and stores with multiple variants.

8. Testing Your Product Page Setup

After saving settings:

  • Visit a sample product page

  • Check placement & styling on both mobile and desktop

  • Verify button updates correctly on variant change

  • Confirm wishlist count updates after action
