Overview

Installing Flits Wishlist on your Shopify store is a simple, guided process. Once the app is added, you can activate wishlist functionality, connect it to your theme through Shopify’s app embed system, and immediately begin capturing customer interactions.

This article covers installation, activation, and the initial steps required to make wishlist features visible on your storefront.


Step 1: Install Flits Wishlist from Shopify App Store

  1. Go to Shopify App Store

  2. Search for Flits Wishlist

  3. Click Add app

  4. Approve installation

Once installed, the app becomes available under Apps > Flits Wishlist inside your Shopify admin.

Note: Installation alone does not display wishlist icons on your storefront. You must enable the theme embed (covered below).


Step 2: Add Wishlist to Your Theme (App Embed)

Flits uses Shopify’s Online Store 2.0 App Embeds, which allow you to activate storefront components without editing code.

To enable:

  1. Open the Flits Wishlist app

  2. Click Add Flits to All Themes

  3. Shopify Theme Editor opens

  4. In the left sidebar → Select App Embeds

  5. Turn ON Flits Wishlist

  6. Click Save

Once enabled, wishlist icons and UI elements can load on product pages, collection pages, and the wishlist page.

Recommended:
Enable the app embed on both your live theme and any draft theme you are preparing, to avoid conflicts during theme updates.



Step 3: Activate Wishlist Inside the App

Inside Flits Wishlist → Wishlist Setup, set:

  • Wishlist Status → ON

Activation ensures:

  • Icons appear on product and collection pages

  • Wishlist page becomes functional

  • Wishlist interactions begin recording in analytics

If status is OFF, no wishlist functions will appear on the storefront.


Step 4: Verify Installation on Your Storefront

After activation:

  • Visit a product page → confirm wishlist button appears

  • Visit a collection page → confirm wishlist icon overlay

  • Visit your wishlist page → confirm it loads

  • (Optional) Check customer account page for wishlist link

If any component is missing, ensure:

  • Theme embed is active

  • Wishlist Status is ON

  • No conflicting custom theme code is overriding buttons
