Introduction
The Include/Exclude Customers feature lets merchants control which customers can participate in their loyalty program.
This ensures that rewards, points, and special offers are targeted to the right audience — helping optimize your loyalty strategy and maintain program fairness.
Availability: This feature is available on Growth and Established plans only.
Key Features
All Customers:
All store customers are automatically included in the loyalty program. (Default option)Include Customers:
Add specific customer tags to include only selected customers in the loyalty program.
Example: Include customers tagged as “VIP” or “Subscribed”.Exclude Customers:
Use customer tags to exclude specific customers or groups from earning or redeeming points.
Example: Exclude customers tagged as “Wholesale” or “Staff”.
Steps to Set Up Customer Eligibility
Go to Flits Admin → Settings → Loyalty Settings.
Under Customer Eligibility, select one of the following options:
All Customers – Every registered customer participates.
Include Customers – Add customer tags to allow only specific customers.
Exclude Customers – Add tags to remove certain customers from the program.
If you select Include or Exclude, type the customer tag name in the input field and press Enter/Return.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Note:
Make sure the selected customers are already tagged in your Shopify Admin → Customers section.
You can add a maximum of three tags for inclusion or exclusion.
By default, the All Customers option is selected.
How It Works
Customers included in the program will:
Earn and redeem points on eligible purchases.
See loyalty widgets, reward pages, and offers on their account dashboard.
Customers excluded from the program will:
Not earn or redeem loyalty points.
Not see loyalty options or reward widgets in their account.
Best Practices
Use Include Customers to reward premium or loyal segments.
Use Exclude Customers to prevent non-target groups (like wholesale buyers or staff) from accessing loyalty benefits.
Keep customer tags up to date in Shopify to maintain accurate eligibility.
