Social media earning rules motivate customers to engage with your brand by liking, following, and sharing your posts across major platforms. Customers access these links through the Flits storefront interactions like legacy customer account, reward widget or reward points and earn points automatically when they complete the action. 


This approach makes engagement rewards clear and simple, while giving merchants full control over limits, expiry, and notifications.


Key Features


Like, Follow, Share Rewards
Points are awarded when customers like, follow, or share on supported platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (Twitter).
Example: Earn 10 points for each first-time “like” or “follow.”


Earning Limit for Share Actions
Merchants can cap how often customers earn rewards for repeated sharing.
Example: “1 per day” earns points for a share, then resets eligibility after 24 hours.

This maintains fair use and prevents abuse.


One-Time Earning:
“Like” and “follow” actions reward points once per customer (lifetime), while “share” can be limited by time.


Reward Expiry:
Set how long points earned for social actions are valid (e.g., 15 days after earning).


Notifications:
Enable email and push notifications so customers know immediately when they earn points.


Status & Management:
Activate/deactivate rules as needed. Pausing only affects future rewards, not past ones.


Setup Steps

  1. Navigate:
    Go to Loyalty Program > Add Ways to Earn.


  2. Select Social Media Rule:
    Choose Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or X (Twitter) engagement.


  3. Enter Reward Value:
    Input how many points each action is worth.


  4. Set Earning Limit:
    For share actions, check “Limit the number of times each customer can complete this action.”
    Set the timeframe and frequency (e.g., daily or weekly).


  5. Add Details:
    Enter required username, URL, and a comment for clarity.


  6. Enable Expiry (Optional):
    Tick “Expire the reward earned after” and set the period (e.g., 15 days).


  7. Activate Notifications:
    Enable mail and/or push options.


  8. Save & Activate:
    Set rule Status: Active and click Save.

  • Use round point values (like 10 or 20) for simple tracking.

  • Limit share rewards to prevent repetitive gaming of the system.

  • Pair expiration with earning limits for sustained, fair engagement.

  • Clearly explain each rule and point value in customer-facing areas.
