Introduction

The Based on Order Number rule allows customers to earn loyalty points depending on their order count.

Merchants can create specific reward milestones — such as bonus points on a customer’s first order or ongoing points from their second order onward.


This setup helps motivate first-time buyers and sustain engagement through repeat purchases.


Key Features

  • Specific Order Rewards:
    Assign different points to specific order numbers.
    Example: 25 points on the first order.


  • Ongoing Rewards:
    Apply consistent rewards to all orders after a certain order number.
    Example: Earn 10% points on every order from the second onward.


  • Flexible Reward Type:
    Choose between Fixed Points (a set number) or Percentage of Cart Value for each rule.


  • Reward Expiry:
    Define how long earned points remain valid (e.g., 1 day, 7 days, 30 days).


  • Customer Notifications:
    Automatically notify customers via Mail or Push when they earn points.


  • Status & Management:
    Activate or deactivate rules anytime. Delete a rule when it’s no longer needed.


Setup Steps

  1. Access the Rule:
    Go to Flits Admin → Loyalty Program → Ways to Earn → Place Order(s).


  2. Select Earning Value:
    Choose Based on Order Number under Earning Value.


  3. Add Specific Order Rules:

    • Click Add Rule.

    • Enter the Order Number (e.g., 1).

    • Set the Points to award (e.g., 25).

    • Choose whether it’s Fixed or Percentage (%) based.

    • Add a short Comment (e.g., “Points on 1st order placed”).

  4. Set Ongoing Rewards:

    • In the Points on all orders from order number X onwards section, define rewards for repeat orders.

    • Example: From order number 2 onwards → 10% of the cart value.

  5. Enable Reward Expiry:

    • Check Expire the reward earned on orders after and enter the number of days (e.g., 1 day).

    • Points will expire if not used within that time-frame.

  6. Activate Notifications:

    • Enable Mail and/or Push under the Notifications section to alert customers about their earned rewards.

  7. Save & Activate:

    • Click Save and ensure the rule Status is set to Active.


Best Practices

  • Reward First Purchases Generously:
    Offer slightly higher points on the first order to drive conversions.


  • Encourage Repeat Orders:
    Use percentage-based rewards for later orders to promote long-term loyalty.


  • Use Expiry Strategically:
    Short expiry (e.g., 7–15 days) motivates faster redemptions.


  • Keep Comments Clear:
    Use descriptive labels like “10% points on repeat orders” so customers easily understand their rewards.


Notes & Plan Availability

  • The Reward Expiry and advanced notification features are available in Growth and Established plans.

  • Free Plan users can set fixed rewards per order but won’t have access to expiry options.
