Yes, customers can redeem their earned reward points to get free shipping. This is a popular way to boost customer satisfaction and encourage higher cart values, especially when free shipping is a strong incentive for purchase.

For example, you can set 100 points = free shipping, so the customer does not pay for their delivery charge on qualifying orders.

Multiple Rules for More Choice

You can set up multiple free shipping rules, each with different points required, maximum shipping amounts, or minimum purchase requirements. For example:

  • 50 points = Free shipping up to $50 shipping cost

  • 100 points = Free shipping up to $150 shipping cost (with $150 minimum cart value)

This allows you to appeal to a broad range of shoppers with varying eligibility and cart values.

How to Set Up Free Shipping Reward

  1. Go to Loyalty Program > Ways to Redeem.

  1. Select Free Shipping.

  1. Enter:

    • The points required for redemption (e.g. 100 points).

    • (Optional) Set a maximum shipping amount for which this reward applies (e.g. only orders with shipping less than or equal to $150).

    • Set a minimum purchase value customers must meet to use this reward (e.g. $150).

    • Use the comment field to tell the customer why they received free shipping (e.g. “Received free shipping for 100 points”).

  1. Enable combinations to allow customers to stack free shipping with order or product discounts (shipping discount cannot be combined with another shipping discount).

  1. Choose redemption location (cart or checkout) by clicking Manage.

  1. Activate mail notifications as needed.

  1. Set the rule to Active and Save.

Redemption Restrictions and Options

  • Customers can only use this reward if they have enough points and meet the minimum purchase amount.

  • Free shipping is applied only if actual shipping costs are equal to or less than your maximum shipping setting.

  • If enabled, customers can combine this reward with select discounts except other shipping offers.

Notes & Best Practices

  • Use easy, round numbers for points and amounts for clear customer understanding.

  • Limit maximum shipping to control costs.

  • Require a minimum order to encourage higher cart values.

  • Explain the reward reason in the comment field, this helps clarify discount logic on order summary.

  • Regularly review and update your free shipping rules as your product catalog and shipping fees change.

Deleting the Rule

You can remove or deactivate free shipping at any time in the admin panel. Deleted rules disappear instantly in the store.
