Introduction

The Percentage Discount (Flat Discount) rule allows you to offer customers a set percentage off their cart value in exchange for loyalty points. This lets you reward different levels of shopper engagement with flexible, attractive incentives.


Multiple Rules for More Choice

You can seamlessly set up multiple percentage discount rules to offer customers a variety of options. For example, you might configure:

  • 50 points = 5% off

  • 100 points = 10% off

  • 200 points = 20% off

This gives every customer a chance to redeem the flat discount best suited to their cart and point balance.


How to Set Up the Rule

  1. Go to Loyalty Program > Ways to Redeem.

  2. Select Percentage Off (Flat Discount).

  3. Enter the points required (e.g. 100 points) and the percentage off (e.g. 10% off).

  4. Add an internal comment for clarity

  5. Choose a Minimum Purchase Amount to ensure discount usage aligns with revenue goals.

  6. Enable combinations so this discount can stack with order, shipping, or product discounts (see the checkboxes in your settings).

  7. Define where customers can redeem (cart or checkout) under Redemption Location, and keep notifications active for timely updates.

  8. Set status to Active, and click Save.


Redemption Restrictions & Options

  • Customers must have a points balance equal to or greater than required.

  • Cart value must meet the minimum purchase set by you.

  • Customers can select and apply the discount at checkout or cart, and will see the combined effect if multiple discounts are enabled.


Strategies for Maximum Engagement & Profit

  • Reward Tiers: Set up multiple rules for different point and discount levels.

  • Minimum Purchase: Use a reasonable minimum (as little as $1 or as fits your margins).

  • Combinations: Allow or limit stacking with other discounts based on sales and profit outcomes.

  • Simple Multiples: Stick with round numbers for easier understanding and system calculation.


Deleting the Rule

You can delete this rule anytime if it is no longer required. If deleted, customers will no longer see this reward as a redemption option.
