Introduction
Increment-based redemption lets customers choose how many points to redeem, but only in multiples that you set (e.g., every 100 points gets $1 off). The discount is applied according to the selected increment.
How It Works:
Customers select a discount by choosing points in set multiples (e.g., 100-point increments).
The discount is dynamic: more points spent mean a higher discount, up to the maximum allowed.
Redemption is only possible if:
Customers have the minimum required points (entry gate).
The redemption does not exceed the maximum per order set by the merchant.
The cart meets your minimum purchase amount.
Best Setup Strategy:
To maximize usability and protect revenue, follow these steps:
Set a Fair Entry Gate:
Require a minimum number of points to be eligible—this ensures only loyal or engaged customers can redeem.Limit Redemption:
Set a maximum number of points redeemable per transaction to avoid excessive discounts lowering your margins.Encourage Higher Order Values:
Require a minimum purchase amount to apply the reward—customers may add more to their carts to unlock savings.Keep the Experience Flexible:
Allow combinations with other discounts where possible, but monitor their overall impact.
Setup Instructions:
Go to Loyalty Program > Ways to Redeem.
Select Increment-Based Point Redemptions.
Configure:
Points increment (e.g., every 100 points)
Discount per increment (e.g., $1)
Minimum points required (entry gate, e.g., 100 points)
Maximum redeemable points per transaction (e.g., 200 points)
Minimum purchase amount (e.g., $500)
Combination options (order/product/shipping)
Set rule status to active and Save.
Customers will see eligible rewards at checkout, select the discount, and the system will apply it according to the points they choose.
Deleting the Rule
You can delete this rule anytime if it is no longer required. If deleted, customers will no longer see this reward as a redemption option.
Points to Note:
Customers with fewer points than the minimum cannot use this rule.
The cart must meet all set criteria for the discount to apply.
Tips:
Use round point numbers for increments (100/200 points).
Avoid decimals to keep rules clear and easy to understand.
Monitor analytics and adjust minimums and maximums for best results.
Enable notifications so customers know when rewards are available.
