1. Ensure that you've enabled opt-in

If you haven't seen or been able to opt-in to your website's web push notifications, you need to check if you have your opt-in activated.

To activate opt-ins go to notifications > push notifications > prompt type > select and save custom or default prompt.

2. Deleted browser history

If your browser history has been deleted in the recent past, push notifications get automatically disabled. Unfortunately, we cannot track such events.

The only solution to this is whenever you re-visit your website Flits automatically re-syncs subscribers on every new browser session.

3. Blocked notifications

Allow notifications from your website. To check this click on the View site information (can be found on address bar) > site settings > Notifications

You can manually check if you've opted into web push notifications by clicking on the lock icon on your address bar.

To receive notifications "Allow" option must be selected

If allowed it will automatically appear on the address bar's view site settings option popup.

4. Push notifications does not work on Private (incognito) browser

If you are visiting the website on a private browser or incognito mode they will not receive push notifications. Incognito and private browsing modes are temporary which means they do not store any data, which prevents the browser from collecting and storing subscription data.

5. Device settings to allow notifications

If device settings restrict notifications for web browser then subscribers will not receive notifications.. Here's how you can solve it on different devices:

Android

1. Go to "Settings" and click on "Apps"

2. From the app list, click on "Chrome"

3. Click on "Notifications" and switch on "Show notifications".

Windows

1. Go to "Settings" and click on "Notifications and actions"

2. Ensure that "Banners, Sounds" is toggled on for "Google Chrome"

Mac

1. Open "System Preferences" and click on "Notifications"

2. Click on "Google Chrome" and ensure the toggle is on for "Allow Notifications from Google Chrome".

6. Check if you have "Do Not Disturb" or "Focus Assist" switched on

You may not be receiving notifications if you have switched on "Do Not Disturb" (on Mac) and "Focus Assist" (on Windows) for specific hours during the day.

On Mac, open "System Preferences", click on "Notifications", and click on "Do Not Disturb". You can see if this setting is turned on and how long do not disturb is enabled.

On Windows, go to "Focus Assist" from "Settings" and check if you have switched it on.
