Introduction

OTP login was introduced by Flits after multiple requests by Indian merchants. The Customer account page and sign-up/sign-in pages are directly related, the sign-up/sign-in page is modified to accommodate OTP login via Flits and an SMS carrier.  

OTP Login

A one-time password (OTP) is an automatically generated numeric or alphanumeric string of characters that authenticates a user for a single transaction or login session. An OTP is more secure than a static password, especially a user-created password, which can be weak and/or reused across multiple accounts.

Purpose of OTP login

OTP login is useful in eliminating fake accounts and verifying a customer’s phone number

Using OTP login via Flits

Flits provides OTP login functionality for Enterprise plan merchants. 

Carriers used for OTP login
Currently, we can provide OTP login via MSG91, however, if merchants wish to use any other carrier they can request our customer support. 

Can I use this feature from any country in the world?
As of now, this feature is launched only for Indian merchants. If merchants outside India wish to use this feature they can request our customer support for the same.
