This article will cover the reason as to why stores that are not Shopify plus cannot use the spent credit option on their checkout pages.


Why can't non Shopify Plus stores use the spent credit option on checkout?

Our support team tries its best to help in improving the shopping experience of your customers in any way we can. 


Shopify has discontinued the loading of third-party application scripts on the checkout page due to security concerns. This limitation has resulted in Flits being unable to allow the 'Spent Credit' option on the Checkout page.


Due to this limitation by Shopify, Flits is managing the 'Spent credit' option on the cart page for the rest of the Shopify stores.


Spent credit option on checkout page for Plus stores


Currently, Shopify plus stores can use the spent credit option on checkout page using checkout extension or using checkout.liquid.


Please note that, as per Shopify's guidelines the checkout.liquid layout will be deprecated for the Information, Shipping, and Payment pages on August 13, 2024. Users who have customized these pages using checkout.liquid need to upgrade to checkout extensibility before August 13, 2024.
